SANTA FE SPRINGS, California - Weber Distribution, a leading third party logistics and supply chain management provider for more than 85 years, announced today that it has hired Chuck Mikel as freight services manager, sales and Ryan Brower as logistics manager, sales, effective immediately.
Mikel is responsible for growth of all transportation modes and markets currently being serviced by Weber with primary focus on its Transportation Services operation. Chuck spent 21 years with Roadway Express where he held various positions including Director, Business Development, District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Strategic Account Sales over his 21 year career.. Most recently, he worked for CH Robinson as a Key Account Business Development Manger prior coming on board with Weber Distribution.
Mikel over his many years in transportation and logistics has managed a variety of accounts including Coors Brewing Company, Toyota, Mattel, Fisher Price and Mission Foods to name a few. He spearheaded several key projects for Roadway's Brand recognition in Hawaii, growing its market share by 71% over a 3 year period as well as a "Last Mile Delivery" campaign for James Hardie Corporation to the North American Home Depot stores.
Brower's responsibilities include sales of Weber's drayage, intermodal and transload product lines, as well as maintaining the needs of its current client base. He comes to Weber from Bridge Terminal Transport, the world's largest marine drayage company, where he was sales manager for the Pacific Southwest region. Some of his accounts included DOLE , Porteous Fasteners, DOW Chemicals, Sony, Office Max, Dollar Tree, Michaels, Red Bull, ICON Health and Fitness, Chrysler, and BMW, to name a few. He was also involved with terminal management of 37 nationwide container yards including storage and interchanges with cargo owners, NVOCCs, rail companies and steamship lines.
Prior to that, Brower worked as import sales manager for Hapag Lloyd America; import sales assistant manager for Evergreen America Corp; Lloyd Triestino of America as import/export sales assistant manager and export sales representative. Brower holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of California, Irvine.
